Description:

Only a short walk from the monkey park, Hotel Senjukaku is one of the best ‘ryokan’ (traditional guesthouses) in the area, known for its outstanding ‘kaiseki’ (mutli-course) meal service, indulgent hot springs, and popularity with members of the Japanese Royal Family. The package includes a standard Japanese room, dinner and breakfast. All guests have unlimited use of the hotel’s indoor and outdoor hot springs, with private onsen also available at a small surcharge.

This package includes a 2-day Snow Monkey Pass, valid for one entry to the monkey park and 2-days unlimited transport using the Nagano Dentetsu Railway – running from/to Nagano Station and Yudanaka Station – along with the Snow Monkey Express Bus – running from/to Nagano Station and the monkey park.

Within walking distance of the park, Enza Café is one of the area’s most popular restaurants serving a great selection of Japanese and Western favourites, including delicious Ramen and Pizza lunch set. You can choose to have lunch at Enza on either day – a great option before or after heading into the monkey park.

How it works:

1 / Upon booking this package we will arrange your accommodation at Senjukaku and confirm your room with you, including any special requirements you may have.

2 / The confirmation email will also be your receipt for your hotel booking, this can also be used at Enza Café in exchange for your lunch.

3 / Your 2-Day Snow Monkey Pass will be waiting for you at the Nagano Dentetsu (Nagaden) ticket window at Nagano Station. The pass is valid for 2-days travel on either the Nagaden Railway and Snow Monkey Express Bus.

Should you wish to travel to the monkey park by train, you will arrive at Yudanaka Station – the terminus and nearest station to the park. From there, Hotel Senjukaku offer a pickup service. Should you wish to be picked-up, you will need to arrange a time directly with the hotel. The Snow Monkey Express Bus drops passengers within walking distance of the hotel and monkey park. There is therefore no need to arrange pickup by the hotel

*this package includes a standard Japanese room at Senjukaku. Should you wish to book a different type of room, please contact us to discuss.

Suggested Itinerary:

Your 2-Day Snow Monkey Pass allows for unlimited use of the train and Snow Monkey Express Bus over both days, but only 1 entry to the monkey park. We suggest the following itinerary:

Day 1

1105    Take the express bus to the monkey park
1200    Drop your bags at Hotel Senjukaku and walk onto Enza Café for luch
1220    Enjoy a tasty lunch
1300    Walk into the monkey park
1330    Enjoy your time with the monkeys
1430    Depart the monkey park and walk back-out along the trail
1515    Check-in at Senjukaku, where the afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy

Day 2

Your 2-Day Snow Monkey Pass covers unlimited travel on the Nagaden train and Snow Monkey Express Bus all day. For guests needing to head straight back to Nagano City, we suggest using the express bus directly to Nagano Station, otherwise Senjukaku can drop you at Yudanaka Station from where you can explore destinations including Yudanaka and Shibu Onsen, Obuse and Suzuka – stops on the line bound for Nagano.
